T O P I C R E V I E WhannaramaaWhat aspect would one have that causes you to adopt the trait of someone else's sign placement? For example today I was thinking about this guy I loved - he was an Aries sun, Sag Moon (!!) Venus in Pisces (!!), but I was thinking about our relationship and no matter what he offered me I was always wanting more from him, regardless of my emotional state. Wouldn't that be typical of expansive signs like Sag or Pisces? The endless and limitlessness of Jupiter and Neptune, vs. my Moon and Venus sign (Taurus and Aries) which have strict boundaries and are pretty defined. The thing is I don't know if you're to look at synastry for this or if it's a natal condition. Could it be my Neptune in the 7th house trining my Moon which creates a mirror effect, so I kind of "absorb" latent behaviors from someone else?ReachingForTheStarsI'm not sure if this will answer your question. I'm not sure I completely understand the question! lol but...That sounds like a 7th house Neptune, and/or synastry with prominent Pisces/nep which is the type of energy your natal suggests you're predisposed to. So, id say it starts with your natal and gets more complicated with synastry. Since the 7th house is how you approach relationships and who you attract, both people could have tendencies to project and absorb creating one big nebulous fog... Sweet dreams, beautiful nightmares... LolI have a 7th house Neptune as well. It projects what it sees. In my case, I tend to focus on potentials. I'm totally aware of the person and who they are, but I want who their qualities suggests they can be. With these signs and planets involved the potential is as you've said, "limitless." Which does what? Leaves you in a perpetual state of longing!! How nebulous! A good way to direct these energies is partnering with someone with similar goals, so this energy is directed outwards on some creative project instead of on one imperfect human creature. That is just inhumane! Lol. Build something together, make it perfect....This reminds me of that Taylor swift song blank space! She BTW, has Neptune conjunct AC and mercury. The lyrics goes... "Stolen kisses, pretty liesYou're the king baby I'm your queenFind out what you wantBe that girl for a month" florence quote:Originally posted by hannaramaa:What aspect would one have that causes you to adopt the trait of someone else's sign placement? Like an imprinting has occurred. I wondered if it was more me tuning into masculine planets in my chart through theirs. But I've also had the same experience where I feel like I am not acting like myself and more like the other person even at the time but can't stop it. I have moon conj neptune but also put it down to sun conj descendant. But neither of those feel exactly right. Could it be gemini? (I don't have but my moon was progressed there when I most noticed) I do think venus in pisces can bring out that effect in others too possibly.Edit I think the moon pluto in your chart might be related as people are so honed in to others with that and then the link with neptune trining. I've moon q plutohannaramaaYeah if I were to look at his behavior he was more obstinate and got angrier a lot faster than me BUT his Mars was also in his 7th house I believe. Mine is in my 12th. The obstinacy thing is something I would associate with a Taurus moon though, not a Sag one necessarily (although I definitely know they will stick to their guns). So you think it's a combination of Moon / Pluto and Moon / Neptune in my natal?bananazI'm guilty of this. Anytime I spend a lot of time with a friend or my husband, I start talking like them, adopting their habits, taking from their energy. I'm a pisces with a stellium in my 12th house. Also my neptune is on my midheaven and I think people project on me a LOT. Or maybe i make it easy for them? I'm not sure. However, I now work alone, and I need a lot of time by myself to "recharge" and kind of find myself again if that makes sense.hannaramaa^^ But when that happens do you start seeing your former (aka "real" self) self in those people? Do you return back to normal once you are away from them for a significant amount of time?Something else that happens is I take on the negative traits of people. It's like once the relationship or friendship is over I now have their negative issues to contend with as part of my own character whereas they are peachy keen, and usually they're things I disagreed with to begin with. Idk, it's weird.ReachingForTheStarsI think that is Neptune. You may be fine and well while the energy of your 7th house Neptune is dormant, but once activated by synastry, or you begin to access your 7th house as you engage in serious partnerships, it creates the dynamic you describe. In my opinion, It's Neptune, it's aspects, and the 7th house above all other aspects. Here's a good article that elaborates on those dynamics: http://sasstrology.com/2011/11/what-your-7th-house-partnerships-say-about-you.html bananazI return back to normal. It's weird, it's like I mirror whoever I'm spending time with. I spent a month with Australian/ British people, and I caught myself picking up their accent. I didn't want to sound like them--I honestly couldn't help it.If yours are more of transformations rather than short-lived habits, maybe it's more of a Pluto thing? Idk I'm going out on a limb with that one lolhannaramaaCould be, I have Moon opposition Pluto and Pluto in the 5th. I suppose it could act as a magnet then or it just retains the energy Moon Neptune captures. I just think its weird I could start acting how other sign placements of the person *could* express themselves, but don't.florence quote:Originally posted by hannaramaa:Yeah if I were to look at his behavior he was more obstinate and got angrier a lot faster than me BUT his Mars was also in his 7th house I believe. Moon pluto ... I'm not very good at this but ... My feel for this aspect is it tends to bring others issues To the surface and wouldn't a part of that be expressing those same things unconsciously. florence quote:Originally posted by hannaramaa:Could be, I have Moon opposition Pluto and Pluto in the 5th. Then it is easier for you to integrate them into your behavior when you see them in a mirror. I think you project the negatives traits on them, when they are GONE from your life, either you fall for someone similar to keep reminding you of these traits of you OR you integrate or accept them as part of who you are. I suspect what happens is that you have a skill for integrating disowned parts of yourself once you see them reflected in your partner. I also believe that once you become more like your partner their appeal diminish. at the end of the day, falling in love is a projection after all... hard for a neptune in 7th (I also have neptune in 7th)Does it make sense?nordicsoul quote:Originally posted by hannaramaa:Could be, I have Moon opposition Pluto and Pluto in the 5th. I am not sure which placement could be, but I believe everybody projects in partner characteristics of themselves they repress, so they meet their shadow in their partners...what I believe it is different here is your self-awarenes. that I suspect has more to do with your pluto placement. does pluto aspect mercury?hannaramaaDon't have a ton of time to write but no Pluto doesn't aspect Mercury, I meet a lot of Mercury / Pluto though. Maybe it's because Pluto is in Scorpio but in my 5th house ruled by Libra, and my Venus is conjunct my Mercury in Aries in the 11th house.
